Message from the Director

The Institute for Integrated Project Research was established in 2018 as a university-wide organization that transcends the boundaries of humanities and sciences, comprising numerous projects in various academic fields, based on Aoyama Gakuin University 's policy for promoting research across the entire university. Each project uses competitive funding from public research funding agencies such as Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, as well as external funding obtained through joint research and commissioned research with companies, to conduct world-class research, unique research that Aoyama Gakuin University should focus on, and research that is expected to develop further in the future. In addition to the activities of these projects, the Institute also supports research under President 's Initiative Project, which is a research theme designated by President as particularly important.

Each project can establish its own research institute with the project leader as its director, and the university provides budgetary support to each project institute. Furthermore, the university is working to develop a visiting researcher system that allows researchers from external research institutions and companies to participate in each project's research, thus playing a strategic role as a platform to promote collaboration between Aoyama Gakuin University, the local community, and industry.

In summary, the Integrated Project Research Institute aims to support the research activities of each project research institute and contribute to their development by returning the research results to society.

Director of the Institute for Integrated Projects: Junichi Shimoyama (Professor, Faculty College of Science and Engineering)
