Message from the Dean
Aoyama Gakuin University Graduate School of Science and Engineering consists of one major and eight specialized courses, and each year we produce approximately 250 master's students who are active in a wide range of fields.
Furthermore, our doctoral program actively accepts working professionals and international students, fostering a diverse environment where individuals can learn from and inspire each other, acquiring advanced expertise through cutting-edge research in their respective fields. We also have four advanced research centers (Center for Advanced Technology / CAT, Center for Advanced Information Technology Research / CAIR, Life Science Research Center / LSC, and Instrumental Analysis Center), and armed with state-of-the-art hardware and the educational and research capabilities of our faculty, we have achieved numerous results based on the fundamental principles of "world-leading research" and "open research." In addition, based on the research seeds created in this excellent research environment, we actively participate in technology exhibitions and are developing many collaborative research projects with companies.
In terms of lecture subjects, we offer a curriculum that allows students to take courses in areas such as scientific and technical English, scientific and technical ethics, environment, and welfare, without being limited to their specialized fields, contributing to the development of well-rounded individuals. In addition to a comprehensive curriculum, we have established support systems such as the "Special Grant Scholarship System (Master's Program: Internal Admission Only)" which provides full or partial tuition fee waivers, and the "International Conference Participation Support System" which supports participation in international conferences. For doctoral students, we have a wealth of support systems, including the "Young Researcher Development Scholarship (Under 30 years old)" which provides the equivalent of tuition fees, the "Graduate Student Assistant System (160,000 yen/month)" which employs doctoral students as research assistants, and the "Early Eeagle System (250,000 yen/year)" which is an internal competitive research grant. Thanks to these support systems, the internal advancement rate to the master's program exceeded 50% in 2024, and the number of students challenging themselves to enter the doctoral program is also increasing.
