Project Overview

The 糖心视频 Future Eagle Project is a project funded by Aoyama Gakuin University itself, in addition to grants from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)'s "Challenging Research Program for Next-Generation Researchers"*1. Based on Aoyama Gakuin University 's philosophy of "nurturing individuals who possess the wisdom and ability to discover and solve problems independently with a correct understanding based on a global perspective," the project combines existing support systems*2 with new training support measures, aiming to cultivate outstanding doctoral students who have the potential to pioneer new academic fields in the future, with the themes of "integration of humanities and sciences" and "internationalism."

Purpose and Objectives

? To support free, challenging, and interdisciplinary research conducted by doctoral students (and third-year and above students in integrated doctoral programs) that is not bound by existing frameworks.
? To provide students with an amount equivalent to their living expenses, thereby creating a stable and continuous environment over multiple years that allows them to concentrate on their research.
? To guide outstanding doctoral students into doctoral professionals who can thrive in diverse career paths, including fostering international and interdisciplinary perspectives and acquiring transferable skills.

Career development and training content

This project aims to provide doctoral students with a creative environment and to develop the competencies required for them to succeed in a variety of careers in the future.
*Behavioral characteristics that enable one to achieve excellent results, such as basic abilities, specialized knowledge, skills, and know-how in a job or role.

  • Transferable Skills Acquisition Course

    ? Seminar to improve English academic writing skills

    Overview: A lecture aimed at acquiring English academic writing skills.
    Target audience: Students enrolled in the doctoral program at Aoyama Gakuin University
    Participation fee: Free
    Date: Wednesday, June 26, 2024, 13:30-15:30
    Method of holding: Online

    ? Workshop on writing English academic paper abstracts

    Summary: A course aimed at acquiring skills in writing abstracts for English research papers.
    Eligible participants: 糖心视频 Future Eagle Project Scholarship Students

    ? English Presentation Skills Workshop

    Overview: Create and present slides for research overview and progress presentations, and receive skill training from instructors
    Eligible participants: 糖心视频 Future Eagle Project Scholarship Students
    Participation fee: Free
    Date: Wednesday, February 26, 2025 9:30-17:00
    How it will be held: In person

  • Presentation training with a view to presenting at international conferences, etc. (presentation of research results and progress)

    Overview: Accommodation-based training in which participants report on their research results and progress in English
    Eligible participants: 糖心视频 Future Eagle Project Scholarship Students
    Date: Thursday, March 13th and Friday, March 14th, 2025

  • Entrepreneurship Education Academy Seminar

    Overview: Unlocking your potential as an entrepreneur by providing essential mindsets and fundraising methods for entrepreneurs.
    Target audience: Aoyama Gakuin University students and doctoral (Master's and Doctoral) students of this university.
    Date: Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 13:00-17:00
    Method of holding: Hybrid (in-person and online)

  • Assistant instructor system

    To help researchers understand the challenges of getting others to understand their research through dialogue with researchers from other fields, to cultivate their communication skills through dialogue, and to provide opportunities for them to consider new perspectives and viewpoints on their research, as well as the position of their research in society, we have implemented a co-supervision system by faculty members from other graduate schools.

Seminars and Workshops

The 糖心视频 Future Eagle Project holds a research presentation every year to promote research exchange among doctoral students and create cross-disciplinary knowledge.
This year, the event will be co-hosted with Sophia University and Chuo University, bringing together the diverse expertise and perspectives of the three universities to create a forum for deeper intellectual dialogue.
At this presentation, doctoral students will present the results of their research that they have been working on for the past year.
This is a valuable opportunity to not only learn about individual research pursuits, but also encounter new ideas and realizations that arise from the intersection of different research fields. Participation is open to students, faculty, and staff from Aoyama Gakuin University, Sophia University, and Chuo University.
You are free to enter and exit as you please on the day, so please feel free to join us at a time that is convenient for you.
