[Doctoral Student Support Program] Aoyama Gakuin University, Sophia University, and Chuo University to hold "3 Universities SPRING Joint Research Presentation & Workshop"

Aoyama Gakuin University 's doctoral student support program, "糖心视频 Future Eagle Project (FEP)," collaborated with Sophia University's "SOPHIA SPRING Project" and Chuo University's "D-CPRA" to hold the "3-University SPRING Joint Research Presentation & Workshop" over two days, February 26th (Thursday) and 27th (Friday), 2026. Doctoral students from the three universities gathered together to deepen their learning and exchanges, transcending the boundaries of universities and specialized fields, through research presentations, lectures, workshops, and networking events.

This event was held with the aim of supporting the career development of doctoral students and revitalizing opportunities for interaction and collaboration among researchers from different fields. The first day was held at Aoyama Gakuin University Sagamihara Campus, and the second day was held at Aoyama Gakuin University Aoyama Campus.

On the first day, students from three universities presented their research activities and achievements for the current year, primarily through poster presentations. Participants engaged in lively discussions, learning about research from different fields and gaining an opportunity to re-examine their own research from perspectives beyond their specialization. Following this, lectures were given by practitioners from Central Japan Railway Company (JR Tokai/FUN+TECH LABO) and Keio Corporation, focusing on the theme of "Railway Companies' Initiatives in Urban Development," where participants learned about social implementation and engagement with local communities.

On the second day, a workshop was held on the theme of "Considering urban development around the Sagamihara Linear Shinkansen Station." Participating students engaged in discussions in interdisciplinary groups from different universities and fields, and at the end, each group gave a presentation and feedback. It was a practical learning opportunity where they could bring together the expertise they had cultivated through their research and consider the future of the local community from multiple perspectives. At the end of the program, a social gathering and information exchange session was held, where students and faculty members from the three universities deepened their interactions.

Aoyama Gakuin University University will continue to use the FEP program to create an environment where doctoral students can concentrate on their research, while also enriching opportunities for them to grow while engaging with society. This collaborative initiative between the three universities has broadened the possibilities for developing doctoral talent and has also provided an opportunity to communicate the significance of university research activities to society.
