Educational and research objectives
The philosophy and educational goals of the Graduate Graduate School of Education, Psychology and Human Studies are in line with the "freedom of academic inquiry" and the "spirit of the School Education Act (Article 52: Purpose of Universities)" as enshrined in the Constitution. Considering the role of a higher education institution that Japan aims for, it is to cultivate a wide range of professionals and contribute to society. In accordance with the Aoyama Gakuin University spirit of this university, the Graduate School will develop the goals of College of Education, Psychology and Human Studies, and cultivate individuals (people) with the ability to educate themselves, possessing both theoretical and practical knowledge, who can address the various problems facing modern humanity from multiple perspectives, and who can think, express themselves, and act independently while actively responding to social demands. To this end, it will deepen the academic wisdom acquired in the undergraduate program, while also emphasizing a clinical approach that focuses on each individual, and will develop research and educational activities that can contribute even more to various issues in society.
This graduate school deepens fundamental research in academic fields related to human education, psychology, and development, while studying the formation of individuals who can grow and develop in various societies and environments, and who can proactively think about and practice a better life (well-being), and how to achieve that better state of being. Furthermore, it explores the roles that humans play in various environments, their behavior and thinking, human-to-human relationships, and the acquisition of diverse techniques such as expression and communication, and how to achieve that better state of being.
