Aoyama Gakuin University Therefore, in order to establish university-wide, unified ethical standards for “research involving human subjects,” we have established the Research Ethics Review Committee in accordance with the “Aoyama Gakuin University: Ethical Rules for Research Involving Human Subjects” and the “Aoyama Gakuin University: Detailed Rules for the Operation of the Research Ethics Review Committee.”The Research Ethics Review Committee has established an ethics review system with the aim of protecting the dignity and human rights of research participants and promoting research that is ethically, legally, and socially sound.

If a full-time faculty member or graduate student at Aoyama Gakuin University plans to conduct new research involving human subjects, they must apply to and obtain approval from the Research Ethics Review Committee in advance (before the research begins).
