PICK UP Unique classes and initiatives

  1. Interdisciplinary education

    With three departments and five courses, we offer an interdisciplinary education that allows students to study subjects from other departments and courses beyond their specialized fields. We cultivate the ability to grasp things from multiple and diverse perspectives and develop integrated knowledge.

  2. Small class size

    Seminar-style lectures on specialized subjects are offered throughout the four years of the program.

  3. Seminar Bridge

    This system allows students to choose from specialized seminars taught by approximately 40 faculty members, regardless of their department. It's possible to combine departments and seminars according to individual interests and career paths.

  4. Global Studies Program

    This is a limited program for those who wish to study specialized subjects in English.
    There are currently approximately 100 all-English "English Lecture Courses" offered.

  5. University of Essex Dual Degree Programme

    This is a program to study at the Graduate School of Essex University (UK) for one year from the second semester of the fourth year. Essex University is highly regarded in the world in the field of social sciences, and is an international university that accepts international students from over 130 countries. Exchange students can also earn a master's degree at the Graduate School of Essex University.

  6. Overseas training/cross-cultural exchange

    In 2025, we conducted overseas training programs with Hang Dong University in South Korea, the National University of Agriculture in Vietnam, and the University of Lampung in Indonesia, deepening our exchanges with students from each university. We also participated in the activities of iEARN, a global organization that conducts online intercultural exchange, disseminating information about Japan to the world. We are also incorporating new forms of intercultural exchange.
