Business Overview
The "Sharing the quality of management education programs through inter-university collaboration and development of a mutual evaluation system" project, selected as part of the Strategic University Collaboration Support Program for Enhancing University Education in FY2009, is an initiative to develop a mutual evaluation system to guarantee the quality of management education programs for the development of human resources with excellent management skills. In order to respond to changes in the business environment caused by the global economic downturn, it is an urgent task to develop human resources with excellent management skills who have acquired strong leadership and creativity to innovate the business environment. This initiative aims to develop human resources with excellent management skills by promoting the sharing of distinctive and excellent management education programs of the collaborating schools, and to develop a "mutual evaluation system" that guarantees the quality of education in management education programs to ensure this realization.
the purpose
The overall objective of this project is to cultivate highly skilled managers in order to improve management education programs in an era of accelerating globalization of society, economy, and culture, and to contribute to the educational objectives of Aoyama Gakuin University, which is to "cultivate individuals who possess the wisdom and ability to identify and solve problems on their own with a correct understanding based on a global perspective." In order to meet the demands of the globalized era, it is urgent to systematize management education programs or management training programs conducted by universities and other organizations, and quality assurance of management education and training programs is essential. This subsidy project will develop a mutual evaluation system that guarantees the quality of management education programs by promoting the sharing of distinctive management MBA education programs that meet the demands of the times among collaborating institutions.
Furthermore, the purpose of this subsidy program is to enhance and develop the initiatives at Professional Graduate Schools Management, which began in fiscal year 2010, and to expand these initiatives into a university-wide effort, thereby strengthening the human resource development function of Professional Graduate Schools Management, which aims to cultivate individuals with a global perspective and problem-solving abilities, which is Aoyama Gakuin University educational objective of our university.
At our partner institution (Nanzan University), we aim to develop a program that cultivates business professionals who can leverage their strengths in "manufacturing and logistics" and "collaboration with companies in China and other Asian countries and regions," which are the explicit needs of regional industries and communities in the Tokai region. We will improve the MBA education program through collaboration with the local community, primarily the industrial sector, and share the results with other partner institutions. Furthermore, we will participate in the development of a "mutual system" that guarantees the quality of management education programs at each university, which is the prerequisite for this.
Our partner institution (Kwansei Gakuin University) offers an MBA program conducted entirely in English. While all lectures in the International Management course are delivered in English, there are two types of students: those whose native language is Japanese and those whose native or primary language is English.
By developing classes that teach management challenges related to Japanese companies using English-language teaching materials, we will develop methods for teaching Japanese business practices abroad, develop globally applicable teaching materials and instructor capabilities, and actively conduct comparative studies with overseas business schools. To have companies evaluate the learning results, we will conduct internships and needs surveys with companies with which we have close relationships.
