Leaflet: "Request for consideration for transgender students"
The Gender Studies Center receives many inquiries and consultations from students regarding gender issues. Unfortunately, recently, these inquiries have included complaints that faculty members are making discriminatory or exclusionary remarks against transgender people.
In order to curb transgender discrimination and exclusion in educational institutions and protect students, it is essential that each faculty member possesses appropriate knowledge, exercises consideration in their comments during lectures, and provides students with educational opportunities that promote appropriate understanding.
Therefore, the Gender Studies Center has produced a leaflet that explains common questions and considerations regarding transgender issues, so that faculty members can deepen their understanding of transgender issues.
This leaflet was distributed to all faculty members at the end of the 2023 academic year. PDF files in both Japanese and English are also available on this page for anyone to view.
We hope this leaflet will help create a safe and secure learning environment for all students enrolled at Aoyama Gakuin University.
