TITLE
Aoyama Gakuin University The Institute for Innovative Technology and Social Co-Creation established the "Aoyama Creative Learning Lab (Aogaku Aoyama Creative Learning Lab"Tsukumana Lab")"
On Saturday, May 20, 2023, the Aoyama Gakuin University Institute for Innovative Technology and Social Co-Creation will establish the "Aoyama Creative Learning Lab (Aogaku Aoyama Creative Learning Lab"Tsukumana Lab")".
Purpose of installation
In view of the strong demand for the cultivation of creative intelligence with the advancement of advanced technologies, the Aoyama Gakuin University Institute for Innovative Technology and Social Co-Creation will establish the "Aoyama Creative Learning Lab (Aogaku Aoyama Creative Learning Lab"Tsukumana Lab")". Through this lab, we will provide opportunities to work on projects that combine science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, breaking down generational and disciplinary barriers.
Features
This lab is based on the concept of "learning by creating," so we have given it the nickname "Aogaku Aoyama Creative Learning Lab"Tsukumana Lab"."
This program is open not only to university and graduate students, but also to elementary, middle, and high school students of Aoyama, providing a learning environment where they can study alongside faculty and staff. By linking it with the learning environment that Aoyama has cultivated over many years, it aims to nurture diverse and creative intellect.
Furthermore, this project is operated as a collaborative effort between industry, government, and academia, with participation from Aoyama, as well as GMO Internet Group, Inc., CyberAgent, Inc., KADOKAWA Corporation, and Sibuya Ward. With the support of sponsoring companies and Sibuya Ward, the aim is to create a creative space where people can transform themselves by "learning through creation."
Facility and equipment introduction (partial)
■ 3D printer (Fused Deposition Modeling)
This process involves heating and layering plastic materials to create 3D models. By inputting computer-generated 3D models, various shapes can be easily materialized.
■ UV printer
This is an inkjet printer that uses ink that is fixed by ultraviolet light. It can print on a variety of materials, including plastics, metals, glass, ceramics, wood, leather, and fabrics.
■ Laser cutter
This processing machine uses heat from a laser beam to cut and engrave materials. It can process a variety of materials, including plastic, wood, paper, leather, and fabric. Computer control allows for precise cutting and engraving of shapes from image data.
■CNC Milling Machine
This is a machine tool that uses a rotating cutting tool to carve out shapes from materials such as plastic and wood. By inputting a 3D model, it can create precise shapes.
■ Electronic embroidery machine
Computer-controlled designs can be embroidered onto fabric using thread. Images drawn through scratch programming can also be embroidered.
