[SANDS, an official student organization School of International Politics, Economics and Communication] As part of the SANDS My Bottle Project, a Bonaqua? Water Bar by Coca-Cola Japan Co., Ltd. was set up on Aoyama Campus.

On Friday, April 5, 2024, SANDS (Sipec and SDGs), an officially recognized student organization of School of International Politics, Economics and Communication installed a "Bonaqua? Water Bar," a water dispenser provided by Coca-Cola Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Coca-Cola), in Building 17 of Aoyama Campus.
As part of the "SANDS My Bottle Project," and with the cooperation of The Coca-Cola Company, SANDS students spent many years planning and executing the project, leading to the launch of the "Bonaqua? Water Bar." To commemorate the realization of this project, a "Bonaqua? Water Bar powered by SANDS Completion Ceremony" was also held on the same day.

Future prospects

The My Bottle Project will involve creating and selling original design stainless steel bottles suitable for carbonated drinks, aiming to further promote the use of personal water bottles. We will also measure the effectiveness of the newly introduced "Bonaqua? Water Bar" and, based on the needs within the university, prepare to add more units and expand the range of flavors.
SANDS is working to create trends in SDGs with the goal of "from Sibuya to the world." Its members are both active participants in taking action and change-makers who create systems and mechanisms to encourage people to take action. Without being bound by existing ideas, SANDS will continue to develop various projects that spark curiosity.

For students, consuming a bottle of water costing 110 yen and a bottle of sparkling water costing 120 yen daily is a significant burden. We started this project three years ago to create a new alternative. After many years, we have finally been able to realize this project. It would be our greatest pleasure if the "Bonaqua? Water Bar" that we have installed this time could be a support for financially struggling university students like myself. Furthermore, we would be overjoyed if this project could become a catalyst for students to take the lead in planning and launching projects, involving universities and companies, and paving the way for an exciting future from Sibuya to the world.

This project was being planned even before I enrolled, and it embodies the aspirations of my seniors. In response to their wishes, we have worked closely with them through numerous discussions to bring it to installation. The "Bonaqua? Water Bar" dispenses not only cold water but also sparkling water. Sparkling water is a refreshing drink that is perfect for busy university students juggling classes, part-time jobs, and club activities. I was very happy to see so many students and faculty members using it after its introduction. Moving forward, I hope to continue the My Bottle Project to encourage the habit of bringing your own water bottle and create "a new option for the future of the planet." I hope that this will make daily hydration more comfortable as we head into the hot season.
