On April 1, 2024 (Monday), as part of the 150th anniversary celebration of the academy's founding, the Global Lounge on the 2nd floor of Building 17 and the Chat Room on the 1st floor of Building 3 Aoyama Campus were relocated and integrated to the 1st floor of Building 7 and reopened as "International Commons."

■Global Lounge
This space is open to international students and regular students for interaction. Books on studying abroad and Japanese culture are available for browsing, and games are also available for loan as a tool for communication.

■ Chat room (reservation required)
This is a place where you can engage in international exchange through communication in foreign languages (English, Chinese, Korean, etc.). Different topics are set each day, allowing you to enjoy chatting about a variety of things.

International students enrolled at Aoyama Gakuin University act as chat leaders. In "group sessions," up to six students and one chat leader can converse in a group setting, while in "one-on-one sessions," students can converse one-on-one with a chat leader. Users can reserve sessions through the student portal and freely choose from beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels according to their language proficiency. In addition, chat sessions in Japanese are also held for international students.

Through the session, you can learn about the culture and lifestyle of the chat leader's home country, share Japanese culture, and make various discoveries and gain insights through conversation.
