CURRICULUM Learning Features and Curriculum

Characteristics of learning

Aoyama Gakuin University offers a broad range of learning in four technology areas: Digital Media/CG & Web, Advanced Machine Learning/AI, Human Informatics/XR, and Robotics/IoT. Students study everything from the fundamentals of information and communication and software design to applied and related fields such as artificial intelligence and robotics. With a curriculum rich in practical training and exercises, students cultivate advanced specialized knowledge and skills, developing individuals who can thrive in society.

Let's integrate and accumulate various wisdom to shape the true role of technology.

The name "Information Technology" of Department of Integrated information technology reflects our belief that IT (Information Technology) should not be treated merely as a tool for convenience or speed, but rather as something that should be utilized to ensure the healthy development of our society. We explore it as a technology that promotes "human kindness," encompassing reliability, safety, and comfort. Therefore, Aoyama Gakuin University broadly covers the application fields of information technology, encompassing four areas: digital media/CG and Web, advanced machine learning/AI, human informatics/XR, and robotics/IoT. We aim to realize a society where humans, machines, and systems can coexist, and we promote the discovery of new theories and practical proposals to achieve this goal.
Furthermore, the IT field is characterized by rapid globalization and technological innovation. Engineers are required to have the ability to understand technology in English and to have practical skills to build systems, not just understand theory. Aoyama Gakuin University has many foreign faculty members and those with field experience, allowing students to learn under international and practical guidance.

Departmental Major Subjects

Subject Name Features
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is a field that studies software that executes intelligent human behavior. In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has been used in a variety of fields, including autonomous driving, medical diagnosis, dialogue and question-answering systems, and board games, and has attracted social attention. This course provides a systematic and easy-to-understand explanation of the overview and history of artificial intelligence, as well as basic theories and technologies (search methods, symbolic logic, logic programming, production systems, knowledge representation, machine learning, artificial neural networks, deep learning, etc.).
Human-Computer Interaction
Human-computer interaction is a field that studies the interaction between humans and computers. It does not only look at the physical aspects of communicating human intentions to computers and communicating simulation results from computers, but also the cognitive science aspects of how people perceive the outside world and how they interact with it, and it teaches about the nature of a symbiotic environment between humans and computers.
Robotics
Robots are intelligent machines that autonomously understand their surroundings and accomplish the tasks they are given, and their fields of application are expanding. This book provides a systematic and easy-to-understand explanation of the operating principles of these intelligent machines, including industrial robots, manipulators, mobile robots, and humanoid robots, based on physics and mathematics.
Information Network
This is a course that allows students to acquire basic knowledge of computers and information processing through case studies in mechatronics and server applications. In mechatronics, students will learn how to program the behavior control of a mobile robot using sensor information, and in server applications, students will implement web service programs and database access.
Information Technology Laboratory Ⅰ
This is a course that allows students to acquire basic knowledge of computers and information processing through case studies in mechatronics and server applications. In mechatronics, students will learn how to program the behavior control of a mobile robot using sensor information, and in server applications, students will implement web service programs and database access.
