Currently, there are 10 active research groups, including the Japanese History Society Ancient History Division, Japanese Medieval History Research Group, Japanese Modern History Research Group, Japanese Contemporary History Research Group, Western Medieval and Early Modern History Research Group, Oriental History Research Group, and Archaeology Research Group.
